SHINee Lucifer comeback date 2010 concept photos and MV teaser screencaps

There have been a lot of rumours of SHINee’s comeback date. But now it’s settled to be JULY 23rd! While the album ought to be released earlier, on JULY 19th according to the MV teaser. While yesasia.com expects it on JULY 22nd.

It’s gonna be their 2nd full album, titled “Lucifer” with 13 tracks.

For all those who are feeling a little sketchy over the title “Lucifer” and thinking SHINee are devil worshippers from the title of the album, I’m pretty sure they don’t mean it in the reference of the devil kinda thing. As far as I’m concerned, I never took Lucifer to be synonymous with Satan. Lucifer was a fallen angel. The name itself means light-bearer, or morning star. I’d take that to mean a kind of rebirth (morning and light, as opposed to night and darkness which symbolises an end) for SHINee, seeing as how it is their comeback. OR (and this is a big or because I think this really is the case), they used the word “Lucifer” because it sounds cool and its meaning is completely ignored. After all, how many times has this happened in the kpop industry? :) Just my 2 cents. Besides, What’s in a name? that which we call a rose. By any other name would smell as sweet. But here’s the explanation from SM entertainment:

Members using their eye expression to show their main song ‘Lucifer’, in Christianity, Lucifer means the falling angel of the devil. SHINee with a refreshing image in the past activities, showed a big transformation and a feeling of approaching in their 2nd album.
SM expressed that ” A selfish heart, persevering love, wrongly threatened and repeatedly revolving appearance of an angel and devil, lovers having a vague feeling in Lucifer” “The meaning of religion is to have courage”.

“LUCIFER” sings about a man complaining to his lover that she is two-faced like Lucifer, switching between angel and demon, being both appeasing but also repeatedly makes threats.

Over the past few, SM entertainment has been releasing SHINee’s individual concept photos. They’ve gone for the bad boy thing again, except this album (or at least the song Lucifer) is a lot more hardcore than Ring Ding Dong. Also, their looks have drastically changed once again. I’m not too into their new looks, especially Key’s (which in my opinion is totally radical), but I’m definitely still looking forward to their comeback. I suppose it bodes well to have such styles/hairstyles to suit the song, to make a greater impact for their comeback and prove showmanship. Plus it seperates them from the other groups that make safer song and style choices. :)

maknae Taemin has grown his hair longer.

On the other hand, Flaming charisma Minho has pretty much chopped off his beautiful locks. But I see abs~

Onew dubu looks like Gambit to me. He seems to have the most docile persona out of the 5 (perhaps Taemin too).

Bling bling Jjong has gone back to black.

Almighty Key looks totally punk. He had half his head shaved and seems to be sporting a mohawk in the MV teaser.

They seem to have used the same trampoline idea that they used in the Mexicana Chicken CF video :)

Since SM entertainment has released the concept photos and the awesomesauce MV teaser, it’s hard not to believe that SHINee’s comeback is finally on it’s way~
